Following the triumph of the original Black Bay introduced in 2012, Tudor ventured into the realm of modern offerings for vintage enthusiasts. While it undoubtedly appeals to vintage connoisseurs, the so-called "BB58" transcends traditional vintage reissues to craft a timepiece that's nearly unique in its own right. The Fifty-Eight draws inspiration from vintage Tudor Submariners, notably adopting aesthetic elements such as the "big crown" and the absence of crown guards, reminiscent of the 1954 reference 7922, as well as the iconic "snowflake" handset from the 1967 reference 7021.
Tudor took a bold step into the world of precious materials, presenting the Black Bay 58 in bronze, gold, and silver for the first time. These offerings deviate from the brand's utilitarian heritage, yet they've garnered significant attention, as anything emerging from the BB58 platform tends to do. The Black Bay 58 bronze distinguishes itself with a rich brown dial and bezel insert. Underneath, it houses Tudor's automatic MT5400 movement, delivering a substantial 70-hour power reserve and boasting COSC chronometer certification.
Of the precious BB58 collection, the bronze variant is the sole model offered with a bracelet. The fully bronze faux-rivet-link Tudor bracelet exhibits craftsmanship, and on the wrist, it exudes a warm golden tone rather than a traditional bronze hue.
