Audemars Piguet “Travis Scott” Limited Edition
In a groundbreaking collaboration merging haute horology and hip-hop, Audemars Piguet and 32-year-old Houston-born rapper Travis Scott, under his label Cactus Jack, have unveiled the limited edition chocolate brown Royal Oak perpetual calendar "Cactus Jack" LE. This exclusive timepiece, limited to just 200 units at a hefty price of US$201,000 each, signifies a pivotal moment for the Swiss watch industry.
Crafted as a 41mm, the watch features intricate details like white gold hexagonal screws and an openworked Calibre 5135, showcasing rhodium-toned components and pink-gold hues beneath a sapphire dial. Drawing inspiration from Travis Scott's artistic touch, the typography of calendar and week indications mirrors his hand-drawn style. Notably, the moonphase at six o'clock boasts Cactus Jack's signature smiley face, its luminescent coating emitting a captivating blue glow in the dark.
Accompanying this release is a collection of exclusive clothing and accessories available solely on shop.travisscott.com, with a portion of proceeds dedicated to charity, reflecting Scott's philanthropic ethos. This collaboration marks a milestone, blending luxury craftsmanship with contemporary culture, and serves as a testament to Audemars Piguet's visionary approach, especially under the tenure of departing CEO François Bennahmias, who has championed such pioneering partnerships.
