Glashütte Original Launch Seventies Chronograph Panorama Date
Glashütte Original introduces a vibrant twist to its Seventies Chronograph Panorama Date collection, infusing a summery vibe with a touch of 1970s nostalgia. This model stands out with its distinctive square TV-shaped case and now offers new limited editions featuring matte dial colors named "Golden Bay" and "Ocean Breeze". These fresh hues, reminiscent of sandy yellow and blue shades, are achieved using lacquer and aim to evoke the carefree spirit of the 70s.
The Seventies Chronograph Panorama Date boasts a flyback chronograph function, presented through a central seconds hand, a 30-minute counter at 3 o'clock, and a 12-hour counter at noon. Positioned at 9 o'clock is a small seconds sub-dial with an integrated power reserve indicator, while the iconic Panorama Date window sits at 6 o'clock. This collection's hallmark feature eliminates the need for a physical barrier between the date and time display. Enhanced legibility is ensured by dark grey sub-dials, black hands, indices, and minute track, all illuminated by Super-LumiNova for nighttime visibility.
The watch's 40mm x 40mm rounded-square case maintains the 70s aesthetic, adorned with alternating satin-brushed and polished surfaces. Crown guards provide water resistance up to 100m, a notable feature for a watch equipped with a sophisticated flyback chronograph. Powering these limited editions is the in-house automatic flyback chronograph calibre 37-02, boasting 70 hours of reserve power and adorned with Glashütte stripes and a skeletonized rotor.
Offered with a matte black rubber strap or an integrated stainless steel bracelet, the "Golden Bay" and "Ocean Breeze" versions are restricted to 100 pieces each.
