Mido All-New Commander Gradient Edition
Mido's timeless Commander collection, originating in 1959, embraces modern trends again. Having previously revealed its inner workings in 2020, the Commander now returns with the Gradient edition, featuring a transparent blue gradient dial and a relaxed denim strap.
Measuring 40mm in diameter with a slim polished bezel, the stainless steel case retains a sporty essence while being water-resistant to 50m. Its unique blue-grey brushed flange complements the white minute track. The rectangular diamond-polished indices, resembling tuning forks, and black diamond-cut hands are adorned with white Super-LumiNova for visibility.
The blue-tinted acrylic dial, protected by a domed sapphire crystal, showcases a gradient effect from transparent at the center to opaque at the edges. The brass gears of Mido's Calibre 80 movement, alongside the complete date wheel, can be observed underneath. A rectangular date window at 3 o'clock breaks the dial's hue.
Powering the Commander is Swatch Group's Powermatic Calibre 80, an upgraded automatic movement boasting an 80-hour power reserve and enhanced resilience to magnetic fields and shocks due to its Nivachron balance spring. This elaborately adorned movement includes Geneva stripes and the Mido logo on the rotor.
A novel addition is the cotton denim strap with white stitching, harmonizing with the dial's blue tones.
