Tag Heuer Carrera Skipper, “Glassbox” Collection, Bezel-Free
Tag Heuer's 2023 Carrera "Glassbox" collection has made a significant impact with its bezel-less, futuristic design. The new addition to this line is the TAG Heuer Carrera Skipper, a nautical-inspired timepiece with a refined, summery look.
The 39mm stainless steel case maintains the retrofuturistic elements of the "Glassbox" family, but with a larger feel. The standout feature is the bezel-free high-dome sapphire crystal, giving it a distinct appearance. The watch retains the sapphire display caseback and 100-meter water resistance.
The real highlight is the dial with its vintage color palette of ocean blue, seafoam green, and high-visibility orange, expertly balanced for an offbeat yet charismatic look. The Carrera Skipper features a unique movement variant, adjusting the chronograph minutes subdial to 15 minutes, reminiscent of the original Skipper models.
While the Carrera tagline remains at 12 o'clock, the "Skipper" emblem now resides at the 9 o'clock subdial. The double-sloped outer chapter ring contributes to its larger and airier appearance on the wrist.
Inside the watch beats the in-house TH20-06 automatic movement, specifically modified for the Carrera Skipper with a 15-minute chronograph minutes register, offering an 80-hour power reserve and 28,800 bph beat rate.
