IWC Big Pilot G63, Armor Gold & Ceramic Matrix Composite

IWC Schaffhausen has unveiled a bold rendition of its iconic Big Pilot watch, drawing inspiration from the powerful Mercedes AMG G63 SUV. The new Big Pilot G63 showcases a 46.5mm diameter case and a soft-iron inner case for magnetic protection, maintaining the Big Pilot's distinct features. However, what sets it apart are the materials used for the case, caseback, and crown.

The IW501201 model boasts an 18k Armor Gold case, a resilient proprietary alloy resembling the Mercedes-AMG G63 Grand Edition's style. On the other hand, the IW506201 model features a lightweight Ceramic Matrix Composite case developed in collaboration with the German Aerospace Center, known for its damage tolerance and thermal shock resistance.

Both versions share a black base dial with a diamond-like pattern inspired by the G63's air intakes. The dials feature applied indices and hands with varying Super-LumiNova colors. The movements, powered by the in-house IW52010 automatic movement, offer a 7-day power reserve and are visible through a tinted sapphire crystal adorned with the Mercedes three-point star.

The watches come on black rubber straps with a microfiber inlay and a matching folding clasp. They are available in limited quantities through IWC Boutiques and the brand’s e-commerce platform, embodying the essence of the Mercedes AMG G63 in a luxurious timepiece.
