Ressence Latest Type 3 EE
Ressence, known for its innovative approach to watch design, continues to defy convention with the latest Type 3 EE in striking Eucalyptus Green. Founded by Belgian industrial designer Benoît Mintiens, Ressence revolutionized time display in 2010 by replacing traditional hands with rotating satellite-like discs, a concept that remains central to their creations.
The Type 3 EE showcases Ressence's avant-garde philosophy. The watch's 44mm case is crafted from polished grade 5 titanium, housing a unique sapphire crystal chamber filled with 35.7ml of oil, ensuring distortion-free visibility of the patented ROCS module that powers the dial. Another sapphire chamber conceals the movement, while the Eucalyptus Green cover adds a distinctive touch. The watch's domed crystals, short lugs, and absence of a traditional crown create an illusion of compactness despite its dimensions.
To maximize space within the unconventional case, the Type 3 EE features a convex dial pressed against the sapphire crystal. The outer ring displays the date with a yellow pointer at 6 o'clock. The eccentric biaxial rotating satellites indicate minutes, hours, small seconds, oil temperature, and power reserve, all now presented in captivating Eucalyptus Green.
The heart of the Type 3 EE is a modified ETA 2824-2 automatic movement, transferring energy to the intricate 215-piece Ressence Orbital Convex System (ROCS) via a magnetic connection. Running at 28,800vph, it offers a 38-hour power reserve and can be manually wound by rotating the domed sapphire caseback, which also serves for time, day, and date adjustments.
The watch comes with a green honeycomb leather strap and a titanium ardillion buckle.
