Richard Mille RM 72-01 Chronograph for the 100th Anniversary of Le Mans, In-House Chronograph, Two-Tone Case

Richard Mille has unveiled the limited edition RM 72-01 Le Mans Classic chronograph in honor of the 100th anniversary of the iconic Le Mans endurance race. The Le Mans Classic event, which began in 2002, brings vintage sports cars back to the track to relive the glory of the past. This year's event is particularly special as it marks the 100th anniversary of the Le Mans race.

The RM 72-01 is Richard Mille's in-house chronograph and features a two-tone case made from the brand's signature Quartz TPT material. The case band is presented in green, while the bezel is white, creating a striking contrast. The dial also follows this color scheme, with white details on the chronograph registers reminiscent of vintage cars' white wall tires. The Le Mans Classic logo in green and white replaces the hour marker at 11 o'clock, and a checkered pattern adorns the crown function indicator frame at 7 o'clock, adding a nostalgic racing touch.

The RM 72-01 incorporates an in-house movement, setting it apart from its predecessor, the RM 11. The in-house movement includes features such as a flyback function, allowing for instant restarting of the chronograph. The CRMC1 movement inside the RM 72-01 also includes an innovative chronograph coupling mechanism with twin oscillating pinions. These pinions transfer energy efficiently and ensure a balanced energy supply for the elapsed time functions. The RM 72-01 has a slim profile with a thickness of just 11.68mm.

Richard Mille has been a long-standing partner of the Le Mans Classic, and since 2008, the brand has created special editions for the event. These limited editions often feature a chronograph and are designed in the race's official colors of green and white. The RM 72-01 is a tribute to the enduring legacy of the Le Mans race and combines modern technology with a nostalgic racing aesthetic.
