Omega Seamaster 75th Anniversary Ploprof, 1200m Water Resistance

Omega is celebrating the 75th Anniversary of their Seamaster collection with a special release of the Ploprof, a unique and unconventional diver's watch. The standout feature of this edition is the overall blue color palette, which is in line with the theme of all the Seamaster models unveiled on this occasion. The dark blue bezel and outer portions of the gradient dial reflect the Ploprof's impressive water resistance of 1200m.

While the new Ploprof doesn't incorporate the traditional pops of orange, it retains iconic design elements such as the sword hands, massive left-side crown guard, and helium escape valve. The watch showcases a return to the classic form of the original Ploprof, with a 55 x 45 mm case diameter and a monobloc case construction, which means it is made from a single piece instead of multiple parts like a screw-in caseback.

In addition to its vintage-inspired proportions, the Ploprof boasts cutting-edge materials. It is crafted from O-mega Steel, a proprietary steel alloy previously used in the Ultra Deep model. This 75th Anniversary edition also features the METAS-certified Omega Co-Axial caliber 8912 movement and comes with a rubber strap.
The Ploprof holds a distinct position in the realm of dive watches, originating as a tool watch designed for professional divers who spent significant time underwater. Over the years, it has garnered a cult following due to its unique aesthetics and functionality. Omega's latest release demonstrates their ability to balance the old and the new, incorporating the '70s-era proportions and monobloc case construction while adding a fresh touch with the blue color scheme.
