Audemars Piguet Latest Royal Oak Jumbo Extra-Thin
Audemars Piguet has unveiled the Royal Oak Jumbo Extra-Thin 16202XT, an innovative addition to their iconic Royal Oak lineup. This model, featuring a striking burgundy dial, combines lightweight titanium with a unique material called BMG “Bulk Metallic Glass”.
The 16202XT marks a departure from the typical Royal Oak reference codes. While it primarily consists of grade 5 titanium with brushed and polished finishes, what sets it apart are the fully polished bezel and mid-links on the bracelet crafted from BMG. BMG is a palladium-based alloy known for its amorphic nature, high strength, and resistance to wear and corrosion. It offers a distinctive play of light when hand-finished.
The watch retains the classic Royal Oak dimensions, with a 39mm diameter and 8.1mm thickness. Thanks to the titanium and BMG construction, it boasts a significantly reduced weight compared to steel or gold versions. The watch's dial features a rich burgundy red smoked effect with a fine sunray-brushed texture, eschewing the traditional Tapisserie pattern. Pink gold markers and hands complement the dial, adding a touch of luxury. The date disc matches the dial color.
Powering the watch is the in-house calibre 7121, running at 4Hz and offering a 52-hour power reserve. It's housed beneath a sapphire case back, showcasing traditional yet modern finishing.
