Zenith Latest Chronomaster Original
Zenith has given its iconic Chronomaster Original a contemporary twist by introducing a black tricolour dial to this classic timepiece. The Chronomaster Original, formerly known as the A386, is renowned for its association with Zenith's El Primero high-frequency chronograph movement.
This latest iteration replaces the traditional silvery-white dial with a striking black backdrop for the tricolour sub-counters, a signature feature of the model. The overlapping sub-dials display the classic blue, grey, and silver colors, creating a unique visual appeal. The inner scale has transitioned from black to white, while the external 1/10th of a second scale has shifted from white to black. Even the trapezoid date window at 4:30 now features a black background.
The watch retains its vintage charm with period fonts and logos, applied hour markers, and Super-LumiNova-coated hands. The bright red central chronograph seconds hand completes the classic look. The 38mm round case, inspired by the 1969 model, features distinctive facets, pump-style pushers, and a minimalistic bezel. It boasts a 12.9mm thickness and 50m water resistance.
Powering the Chronomaster Original Black Tricolour Dial is the modernized El Primero 3600 calibre, operating at 5Hz and offering 1/10th of a second precision. The movement has a 60-hour power reserve and features a transparent case back showcasing its contemporary design elements.
